A Strong Tattersalls’ Book Two

The resilience of the market was remarkable during the Book Two October Yearling Sale at Tattersalls.  With the gross down a minuscule 0.3% and the average down just 3% during a year that has proven challenging for many, it was great to see.  There was still plenty of quality about and we were able to pick-up four more impressive individuals for clients.

Lot 654, a good-looking son of first-season sire Caravaggio, he hails from the family of Group winners SWEET MINT, INVISIBLE ASH, etc. He’s a strong, athletic colt with a great walk on him.  He was purchased for 110,000 guineas for MV Magnier.

Lot 812, this attractive son of Churchill is a half-brother to two Listed winners already in ARABDA and GHAALY.  His second dam is the multiple G1 winner from the States GOLDEN BALLET, she has produced G1 winner DROSSELMEYER (winner of the Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) and the Belmont Stakes (G1)) and LwG1p STAGE LUCK.  An absolute steal for 20,000 guineas, he is heading to up-and-coming Newmarket trainer Joseph Parr.

Lot 1125, a daughter of Coolmore sire Fastnet Rock, this filly has a pedigree to match her good looks.  Purchased from the successful nursery, Newsells Park, she is out of an own sister to G3 winner DRESS REHEARSAL (who has already produced three Black-type performers including Listed winner BABY PINK).  Her dam’s half-sister Lw FAIRY OF THE NIGHT has also produced three Black-type performers including G2wG1p MUTHMIR and G3wG2p MY TITANIA.  She was purchased for 40,000 for trainer Chris Dwyer.

Last but certainly not least, Lot 1350, a big-walking filly by the Yeomanstown Stud sire Gutaifan.  She is a half-sister to Listed winner PUNITA ARORA, from the family of Champion BAHRI, G2wG1p BAHHARE, G3wG1p MATERA SKY, etc.  She was purchased for 185,000 guineas for MV Magnier.

Good luck to all connections on their new purchases.
