As the yearling sales season got into full swing in Deauville last week Avenue Bloodstock made their mark at the Arqana sale. John Ferguson, Mark McStay and Dick O’Gorman were all in attendance at the sale and the Avenue team came away with three pleasing purchases and found good value from a very competitive sale.

Lot 52, a gorgeous Australia colt was purchased for €160,000 and will head into training with Newmarket trainer Hugo Palmer. He is out of Mark of Esteem mare Tessa Reef, herself a listed winner, she is already the dam of black type winners including Group 2 winner Permian.  With a page that includes the superstar filly of 2018, Alpha Centuri, this was a really exciting purchase to kick of the sale.

Also heading to Hugo Palmer is Lot 150. The good-looking Camelot colt was knocked down to Avenue Bloodstock for €90,000.  Out of Royal Academy mare Logjam, he is a half-brother to Group 2 winner Boris De Deauville.
