Avenue Bloodstock Strike at Arqana

It was fantastic to back in Deauville for the Select Yearling Sale.  There was a lot of quality on offer for value.  At the end of the sale we walked away with six outstanding purchases.

Lot 4, a tremendous son of Galileo, sire of more than 85 G1 winners worldwide.  He is bred on the incredibly successful Galileo/Pivotal cross that has produced over 33% SW to foals to date.  He is a half-brother to G1 winner PRECIEUSE and three additional half-siblings are all Group or Black Type-placed.  He was purchased for €210,000.

Next up was Lot 16, a son of Classic sire, Australia. This colt is from one of the finest families in Europe.  His dam, AME BLEUE, a Listed winner, she finished second in the Prix Jean Romanet (G1) and has a two-year-old filly in training by Galileo named Ame Celeste.  His second dam is multiple G1 winner AQUARELLISTE and he is from the family of G1 winner and sire, ARTISTE ROYAL.  He was purchased for €80,000.

Lot 180, a handsome son of leading sire Dark Angel.  This colt is from the family of G1 winners  ARCTIQUE ROYALE, COLETTE, CERULEAN SKY, MOONSTONE, etc.  He’s got a big athletic walk and will be heading to Classic-winning trainer, Hugo Palmer in Newmarket.  Good luck to his new connections Middleham Park Racing, he’s a lovely type and an exciting prospect.  He was purchased for €85,000.

Lot 234, this good-looking son of top-class sire No Nay Never is incredibly classy.  His second dam is the Listed-winning, multiple Group-placed mare SHAMANOVA.  He is from the family of G1 winners SHAMDALA, SHAMDINAN, SHALANAYA and the immortal SHERGAR.  He was purchased for €80,000.

Lot 242, by the timeless, versatile G1 sire, Sea The Stars.  This handsome colt is out of the Listed-winning SOHO ROSE, an own sister to G2 winner and Black Type producer HANAMI.  He is a half-brother to G3-placed Dean Street Doll, who finished second in the G3 Derrinstown Stud 1000 Guineas Trial.  He was purchased for €200,000.

Lot 310, our final purchase from the sales is by Classic sire, Camelot.  This elegant colt is out of the Listed-placed Avenue Dargent.  He is from the family of G1 winners CREATOR, DANCE DESIGN, etc.  He was purchased for €62,000.
