As the 2018 Breeze Up Sales begin to wind down, Avenue Bloodstock struck again with the purchase of Lot 144 at the Arqana Deauville Breeze Up Sale for €770,000 on behalf of a new client. A sensational son of leading sire Frankel, the colt is a half-brother to G1 winner BACKSEAT RHYTHM.

With regards to the purchase, Mark McStay said, “He’s for a new client who asked me to buy him a special horse. He’s by a special horse who looks like he’s becoming a very special sire and he’s a half-brother to a Grade 1 winner. He may not have been the fastest on the clock but they don’t have to do a fast time to be a good horse and I found it hard to fault him. Hopefully we’ll be hearing plenty more about him next year.”

In addition to this latest purchase at Deauville, Avenue Bloodstock were also active at the Tattersalls’ Guineas Breeze Up Sale, purchasing Lot 186 for 57,000 guineas, an athletic colt by rising star Havana Gold, from the family of Group winners ONLY STAR and MOVIELAND. He was purchased on behalf of Hugo Palmer.
