Breeze-Up Beauties

The breeze-up sales are in full swing and Avenue Bloodstock have been fortunate to find some exceptional individuals at them including two standouts from the Tattersalls’ Craven Sale earlier this month.

Lot 40, a colt from the first crop of Coolmore stallion Caravaggio. This handsome colt is out of a full sister to BATTLE OF MARENGO, from the family of Group/Graded winners WINDSOR PALACE, SEATTLE BORDERS and BRIGHTIA PULSE.  He’s a fantastic physical out of a Galileo mare and Caravaggio is off to a great start at stud with two winners already on the board.  He was purchased from Willie Brown’s Mocklershill Consignment and will head into training with the very capable, young trainer Joseph Parr. He looks like he will make a two-year-old and will be a fast, sprinting-type of horse, he was purchased on behalf of Trevor Milner.

Lot 117, an outstanding individual by Night of Thunder, whom we have had a lot of luck with in the past including 2020 Goresbridge graduate (and winner) STORM LEGEND and multiple winner ACQUITTED.  He is out of Listed-placed winner Vitoria and from the family of G3 winner DEIRA.

Mark said, “He’s (Lot 117) a big, strong, good-looking horse, he was my pick of the sale.  He galloped well and came highly recommended from David O’Callaghan (Yeomanstown Stud).  He was purchased for an existing owner and will head into Classic-winning trainer Hugo Palmer.  He looks like a horse that will be out the second half of the season and will make into a lovely three-year-old type.  I’m very excited about him.”

Mark is in attendance at the Guineas Breeze-Up at Tattersalls and will also be heading to Arqana and Gooresbridge Sales as well.
