Breeze-up purchase Letsbefrankaboutit lands G3 Round Tower

Breeze-up purchase Letsbefrankaboutit took the jump into Group company in his stride at the Curragh on Saturday to land the G3 The Heider Family Stables Round Tower Stakes on only his second start.
Owned by Eamon Water’s Alymer Stud, the Sioux Nation colt made a bright start to his career for Paddy Twomey two weeks ago when third to the Group-placed Navassa Island over the same course and distance despite racing on the wrong side away from the action.
With that debut experience under his belt, connections bypassed the maiden race option in favour of Saturday’s Round Tower Stakes and Letsbefrankaboutit vindicated that decision with an impressive performance, quickening from his midfield position to lead inside the furlong and win by half a length under Billy Lee.
“He learned a lot the last day when he had to race on his own, he won his race,” said Paddy Twomey.
“He was a bit babyish before the race the last day but he was very good today, didn’t put a foot wrong, and did what I hoped he’d do.
“It takes a lot for me to run a maiden in a Group 3 but I just thought he might be fit for it.
“I was going to go to Cork next week for a six-furlong maiden but I just put him in this, I just had a feeling that it might be the right move and it worked out. I did ask Billy about five times if it was the right thing to do!
“He’s a big horse, we won’t overdo it this year and hopefully we’ll have a nice horse for a couple of years to come.
“He’s entered in everything and we’ll see how he is, I think he’ll be a nice horse in time.”
From the second crop of Sioux Nation, Letsbefrankaboutit was purchased on behalf of Alymer Stud by Avenue Bloodstock as a Tattersalls Ireland Goresbridge breezer from Katie Walsh. He was bred by John Halton and partners out of Omanome, an Acclamation granddaughter of Lowther Stakes winner Dance Sequence.
