Leaving Them Breathless

SIMPLY BREATHLESS made it two-from-two for her new connections in America, rallying late to land the Grade 3 Wilshire Stakes at Santa Anita by one-and-a-quarter lengths.  Jockey, Flavien Prat, said following the race, “She’s a very talented filly, she was the right horse to beat today.  She traveled well the whole race. We had to be patient around the turn, but once she got clear, she gave us a good kick. Since it rained here the past few days, it helped make the track softer, so it was good for her running on a familiar surface. She probably won’t mind going a (longer) distance.”

Simply Breathless was a private purchase by Avenue Bloodstock, Shawn Dugan and Patrick Lawley-Wakelin she looks to have an exciting future.  Congratulations to her new owners Cloros Bloodstock.

Simply Breathless won four starts from 13 starts in the UK for trainer Clive Cox.  On her last start in Europe she landed a valuable Fillies’ Handicap at Ascot defeating future G1 winner Sheikha Reika.  She is by Juddmonte stallion Bated Breath and from the female family of G1-winning Champion GIOFRA, her second dam is the LwG3p LADY GRACE.
