Three Exciting, Top-Class Prospects
The last Breeze-Up Sale of the year is now complete and with it we purchased a cracking son of Night of Thunder for £160,000, the second-highest price of the sale. A gorgeous physical, he was very professional in his breeze and is from a stellar family to boot. He is the first foal out of the unraced Fastnet Rock mare Kymera, from the family of Champions JAPAN and SAGANECA and G1 winners SAGAMIX, SAGACITY, SAGEBURG, SAGAWARA, etc. He will be heading to the legendary John Oxx for his racing career.
In addition to our purchases at public auction, we have also been busy with sourcing horses for our clients abroad. Recent purchases include the progressive sprinter SMOKEY BEAR, from trainer Roger Charlton’s yard. The good-looking, three-year-old son of Kodiac, has won or placed in all five of his starts, including his most recent win the Class 2, six-furlong Handicap at Newmarket where he stayed on strongly to defeat the 11/4 favourite Lazuli by nearly two lengths. He is from the family of G1 winners SHAMDINAN, SHAMDALA, SHERGAR, etc. He will continue his racing career in Hong Kong.
The second purchase, which will be heading to Champion trainer Ricky Yu (also in Hong Kong) is the very talented Group-placed winner Confidence High. He is from the yard of trainer Andy Oliver. A son of Kodiac, he is a half-brother to G1-placed The Last Drop and from the family of multiple-G1, Classic winner SARAH SIDDONS. Winner of two of his three starts this year, he was a close second in his Group debut last time out at Leopardstown in the Amethyst S (G3).
All three exciting prospects! Best of luck to their new connections.
